September brought Oktoberfest weekends, live music and football back together at Great American Beer Hall in Medford. For everyone who joined us—and anyone looking for their next day or night out near Boston—here is a look back at the month at 142 Mystic Avenue.
Two Saturdays of Oktoberfest in Medford
Our September 19 and September 26 Oktoberfest dates anchored the month’s weekend calendar. Seasonal beer, German-inspired food and live entertainment were at the heart of the celebration. The September 19 program paired Oom Pa Pas in the afternoon with Finding Molly at night, giving visitors a reason to make a full day of it. Both dated event pages remain available below as a record of the 2026 program.
September 26: football by day, a band at night
The second Saturday brought a different mix. With poor weather affecting outdoor plans around the area, the hall offered an indoor gathering place. College football and the evening band were highlights of the day, with strong walk-in traffic reported by our team. The football lineup included Texas–Tennessee, Oklahoma–Georgia, Iowa–Michigan and Oregon–USC. We cannot say how much of that turnout came from the weather, but the combination of games and live music gave people several reasons to stay.
Music and dancing beyond the weekend
September’s calendar also included Sons of Levin, DJ nights and Wednesday country line dancing. Those different formats are part of what makes the hall useful for different kinds of nights out: watching a band, meeting friends for a game or taking to the dance floor. Looking ahead to October
At publication, October’s lineup includes Fall Cider Tasting and Country Night with Whiskey 6 on October 3, the Patriots–Bears Thursday watch party on October 22, Combat FC live MMA on October 23 and Hall-O-Ween on October 31. Looking toward Oktoberfest 2027
We would love to see familiar faces and new visitors back for another Oktoberfest season. Dates and entertainment for 2027 have not been announced.
