A great watch party starts before kickoff. If you are bringing friends together near Boston, the most useful questions are simple: is your game scheduled, will you hear it, and what else is happening in the room? Here is how to plan a game-day visit to Great American Beer Hall at 142 Mystic Avenue in Medford.
Choose the game first
Start with the published sports schedule and open your matchup. Confirm the date and Eastern start time before sending an invitation. A venue showing sports does not mean every game will be on, particularly when several teams play at once. Use the specific listing as your starting point, and check it again before traveling.
Check screens and sound separately
GABH has two giant screens and twelve TVs. Patriots games have screen and sound priority. Game sound is also part of our Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics playoff viewing policy, subject to that Patriots priority. College football and other games can have different sound arrangements, so read the notes attached to your game. During a band performance, screen availability may reduce to one giant screen; individual listings explain the planned setup.
Bring the group without assuming a reservation
Agree on an arrival time and share the event link with everyone. A watch-party listing or registration should not be treated as a reserved table or exclusive section unless its terms explicitly say so. If your alumni club, office or birthday group needs dedicated space, contact the private-events team before making promises to guests.
Look at the whole day
A Saturday may combine afternoon football with live music later. Check the full calendar so your group can decide whether to stay for the evening or focus on the game. Food from The Lantern and drinks are separate purchases unless a specific offer states otherwise. Review the current menu and visitor information before you head over.
